“After DMEXCO is before DMEXCO”—one of the world’s best digital marketing events is a permanent fixture in many marketers’ calendars every year. We were there flying the TYPO3 Project flag with the help of our official partners. Here’s a quick summary of what we got up to at, how the TYPO3 community and our partners benefited, and how you can learn more about TYPO3 if you missed us in Cologne.

On  September 11 and 12, the TYPO3 Project—represented by TYPO3 GmbH and seven official partners—set up in a big, beautiful booth in Hall 8 at the Cologne Trade Fair. This year’s convention was expected to attract 41,000 visitors from across the world and we were in a good position to catch their attention.

We were there to spread the word, share our knowledge and expertise, helping people understand how TYPO3 meets their business needs. Our dedicated group of official partners passed on inspiration in the form of presentations and fielded many questions at their tables.

Our partners were pretty much unanimous in their motivation for coming along: All of them wanted to promote TYPO3 while at the same time taking home new business leads.

As b13 said, “We like to convince people of the system we love and use most, and meeting at DMEXCO is a great opportunity for that.”

From our point of view, it was awesome. Our booth was very busy during the full two days. We all met a lot of very interesting people with even more interesting stories. They ran the gamut from agencies and end-clients eager to use TYPO3 in the near future, to vendors looking to form meaningful partnerships with TYPO3, to people who had never even heard of TYPO3 before who were amazed by what they could achieve with it.

Making the case for TYPO3—the enterprise CMS

Similar to previous years, DMEXCO 2019 was a brilliant opportunity to reach a core audience and tell them why TYPO3 is an ideal CMS for multinational, enterprise clients. Many visitors were impressed by its scalability, multilingual and multisite capabilities, and slick editing tools. The fact that with ELTS extended lifetime support, TYPO3 delivers up to six years of ROI and peace of mind was an eye-opener for many.

As 3m5.—exhibiting at DMEXCO for the fifth time—said, there are still many people who have never even heard of TYPO3. While, in an ideal world, everyone should know about TYPO3’s powerful enterprise features, this shows that there is still plenty of potential for raising awareness and representing our community at big events like this one.

Leads, leads, leads

In their feedback to us, several partners told us they were impressed by the depth of conversations and the quality of new leads. They reported having hundreds of conversations over the two days and lots of contacts to follow up on.
